POPPY the LADYBUG

In a land clothed in whispering meadows and giggling streams, lived a tiny ladybug named Poppy. She wasn't just any ladybug though her wings sparkled like the moon and her laughter chimed like wind chimes in a gentle breeze. But Poppy held a secret.

She dreamt of flying farther than any other ladybug ever flown beyond the whispering woods and into the great unknown.

One sunny morning a dandelion seed whispered on the wind: “follow me, brave little ladybug.” Poppy her heart a flutter of excitement clung to the sea as it soared beyond the familiar woods. They soared over fields of dancing wild flowers across rivers that giggled at the sky and passed mountains capped with fluffy clouds. Poppy landed in a land based in rainbow light. Talking clouds painted shimmering pictures in the sky and flowers sang melodies with honey sweet voices. A hummingbird with wings of stained glass greeted her: “welcome little traveller, this is the land of wishes where dreams take flight. Poppy’s eyes sparkled with wonder.

She spent days befriending singing flowers, learning cloud painting from the clouds, and sharing stories with the hummingbird but all the while a tiny whisper of longing tugged at her heart. She loved this magical land but she missed her meadow home and the familiar chiming of her friend's laughter. The hummingbird sensing her sadness led her to a wishing tree with leaves like emeralds and bar like spun gold. Close your eyes little one! he said and whisper your truest wish. With a deep breath Poppy wished for two things to keep the magic of the land of wishes in her heart and to share her adventures with her friends. When she opened her eyes a pair of shimmering wings woven from dandelion fluff and painted with rainbow lights sprouted from her back. With a joyous laugh Poppy soared into the sky a kaleidoscope of colors against the blue.

Returning to the whispering woods Poppy was greeted by cheers and gasps of wonder. She shared stories of singing flowers and dancing clouds and even painted pictures on their leaves with the moonlight from her wings. As the stars twinkled in the night sky Poppy knew that even though she couldn't stay in the land of wishes forever. The magic it held would forever sparkle in her heart. A remind her to chase her dreams and share the wonder with all her friends. And so little Poppy the Ladybug with wings of moon beams and laughter like wind chimes became a legend in the whispering woods. A legend that whispered of adventures beyond the familiar of the magic that lives in dreams and the joy of sharing that magic with the ones you love.
