The China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC) has begun work to explore crude oil reserves under the Albert Lake in Uganda. The project marks another example of cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative. Chen Zhuobiao, CEO of CNOOC Uganda Branch, said that the construction process and operation of the oil field will create more than 20,000 jobs in Uganda, improve local employment and boost training of local talent in the oil exploration sector.
