You guys know how big of a Death Korps of Krieg fan I am. Well even though I am a massive fan, I'm not a massive fan of paying Forgeworld prices for let's face it, not so great sculpts. Basing scheme for this model:
AK Terrain Dark Earth texture paste
Ryza Rust (dry) brush
Screaming Skull (layer) dry brush

Here's how and why I prime the way I do!
Two different rattle/spray cans are used-one full solid coat of a Black, and a lighter coat of a light Grey sprayed from above to add light/dark areas. The lighter coating of grey adds a small amount of grit(too small for the eye to see) from above to give the contrast paint a better surface to cling too. Contrast paints don’t work well on black primers, the colours won’t show up well.
