As a veteran, I don't expect handouts, special treatment, or discounts, but I do appreciate the many companies that do give perks to recognize those who have served. Unfortunately, these veteran's benefits don't get used that often, and many employees might not be familiar with what their company offers. Although it would be nice if things always worked, it is easy to fall through the cracks and miss out on benefits or get charged with surprise fees.
