Effective communication has been a perennial challenge for internal auditors. Technical skills are of vital importance but should be complemented with effective communication skills to render internal auditors valuable. The internal auditor of the future must be able to build highly collaborative relationships with all levels of business, communicate effectively and inspire trust to raise the bar for the profession.
