The Song of the Pearl, also known as the "Hymn of the Pearl" and occasionally as "Hymn of the Robe of Glory", is an old Gnostic text. The Gnostics were a mystical or spiritual movement of various schools or communities around the time of the third century BC to the second century AD. Although hte different schools have various teachings regarding the cosmos, creation and humanity, they all had a common ground. Namely, man is in essence a Divine Being who came into the created world of darkness on a Journey. During this journey, the darkness of substance and matter obscured man's consciousness and he fell 'asleep', that is, he doesn't remember his divine origin anymore. In our modern times, the Gnostic message is of tremendous importance, as it is high time that humanity wakes up from its 'sleep'. Man needs to become conscious again of who his really is.
This video is a modern adaption of the original Gnostic text. You can find the original text at my website www.soul-guidance.com, and go to the section of the House of the Sun.
