Kauri wood is found preserved in bogs in New Zealand that are as much as 40,000 years old. It is softer than maple, but hard enough to be turned into furniture, ships and instruments. The bogs and their wooden cargo serve as a huge carbon sink, thus protecting the environment. The maker of this honey-colored C minor beauty is William (Bill) Hughes of Salt Lake City, Utah. The track also goes by the name of Colors of the Flute.
