Now this is why we came to Monterrey! To hike these incredible mountains and eat delicious Northern Mexican food!

We hiked up to La Rayita just on the outskirts of Monterrey. It's a bit dodgy and you have to crawl through a tunnel under a highway but the views over parque la huasteca are unreal.

The hike in the heat knackered us so we needed to refuel, Down the road from us there was a neighbourhood taco stand run by the nicest people. The best tacos in Monterrey they say. We tried everything on the menu then went for a nap.

Unfortunately being rainy season the rest of the day was just miserable so we decided to go out for more food!

We went for the best BBQ south of the USA border at our friend's restaurant Old Jimmy's BBQ.
The food here is phenomenal and Fernando really looks after us, top man.

Monterrey is more than just a big city 🇲🇽
