The Liceu Big Band is a jazz ensemble formed by Liceu Conservatory students with more than 20 musicians on stage. Conducted by Sergi Vergés, the band has developed a wide artistic career which has given a professional dimension to the activity of the Jazz and Modern Music students. The group carries out a wide performance activity, highlighting its performance on Thursday’s Liceu Conservatory Jam Sessions. Moreover, it has collaborated with great names of jazz as European conductors Jere Laukkanen, Amikam Kimleman and Joan Reinders, as well as international musicians such as Giovanni Guidi and Gianluca Petrella. The Liceu Big Band regularly collaborates with the Voll-Damm International Jazz Festival of Barcelona.
