Langtang Kyanjin Gompa trekking
Starting from Dhunche, Kyanjin Gomba Trek takes you into the heart of the Langtang Region. Once in the valley, you are overwhelmed by the alpine forests and have a stunning perspective of Langtang glacier right before your very eye.

We trek the distance to the traditional and ethnic village of Kyanjin Gomba along with the untouched forest where we enjoy a day of rest in the company of noteworthy mountains. From Kyanjin Gompa, a continuation to the pastures of Langsisa at an altitude of 4.084 m gives the great perspectives of various glaciers.

There are a few huts in Langsisa that could be arrived at within one day's walk from Kyanjin Gompa. Visit Langtang Valley, Kyanjin Gompa or Monastery, and the Lirung Glacier are the primary highlights of this tour. This trek arrives at an altitude of 4,300 m in about 10 days and involves moderate hiking.

We take a local bus/jeep to Dhunche to start the trek, it is almost 6 to 7 hours drive from Kathmandu. We will stay in Dhunche on the first day of the Langtang Kyanjin Gompa Trek to start the trek the next morning after breakfast. Dhunche is a small village where traditional Tibetan people leaves, Some local basic tea houses are there for trekkers’ facilities. Instead of Dhunche nowadays trekkers directly drive to Syabru which is one hour drive up from Dhunche or more or less two hours hiking up.

Is trekking expensive?
This entirely depends upon how much you are willing to spend on your trek. You can trek luxuriously by spending lavishly or you can backpack. It all depends upon how much your bank balance allows you to.

You will get accommodation for as less as 3-4$ per night, or you can pay up to much higher for luxury resorts. On average, you will need no more than 10$ for a meal. If you are looking for economical places, you can eat 3 meals for 10$! But eating at such places comes at a great cost of low hygiene rate.

Bottom line: Nepal is not an expensive place when it comes to tourism. It is probably one of the places you can have the most economical luxury trek compared to what a luxury trek would otherwise cost in your country!
