As a work of art in the form of a sharp weapon with a distinctive shape, the only one in the world, keris is found in almost all regions of the archipelago. However, there are many archaeological and historical findings that strongly support the conclusion that the early generations of kris were made in Central and East Java. Therefore, it is necessary to discuss the specifics of Javanese kris comprehensively, starting from mysticism, fairy tales, legends, beliefs, philosophy, history, manufacturing techniques to traditions related to kris in the Javanese life system. The values ​​raised are the values ​​that were adopted until the 20th century, when the development of keris culture reached its culmination.

In this study, Ustadz Salim tries to present a tabulation to identify the characteristics and meanings of the names of the keris blades. For the decoration pattern of "prestige," in addition to the meaning of the names, several engineering designs are also presented, something that used to be very secret and filled with myths or fairy tales.

Likewise, regarding how to choose a keris, if many people still hear stories about the 'efficacy' of certain kris, Ustadz Salim tries to present several ways to assess the quality of a keris; visually, emotionally, spiritually, and traditional. All of these things are summarized and presented in this study as a contribution towards the birth of what is called "krisology."
