It is a bit scary if you stand next to a train of big coal hoppers that speeds up and then goes into immediate emergency stop with two loud bangs. This happened to me today while watching an empty CSX coal hopper train leaving the siding in Hull Ga. The train had to be slow because of ongoing work in this section of the track, but this did not cause the emergency stop. It rather seemed to be an engine malfunction. The train then crawled to Athens Ga., where it had to let pass the northbound manifest CSX Q662-24, which is also featured in this video. Finally, I saw it last on its approach to Palmer Siding near Auburn Ga. much farther to the south. [© 2015 MBMARS Productions. Exclusive rights for YouTube channel "mbmars01" only.]
