“Rakshabandhan 2022”
Namaste We are Pooja and Shirish and Welcome to our “Rakshabandhan” Celebration.

“Rakshabandhan” is a festival celebrated in almost all parts of India. This festival celebrates the bond between brothers and sisters. On this day a Sister ties a Thread ( Rakhi ) on the wrist of her brother as a symbol of her unconditional faith in him and of her prayers for his long life in return the brother promises to keep her happy always and protect her from all the troubles.
In Maharashtra the day is also celebrated as “Narali Pornima” where it is celebrated to mark the end of the monsoon season as the fishermen now can begin fishing safely and start off with their trade apart from offering coconut to Varuna ( the sea god ) people also worship the sea and offer prayers so that the god keeps them safe while they are out in the sea, fishing.
Prior to the day of rakshabandhan, Pooja made a Rakhi by herself for her brother, she also wrote a beautiful letter and posted the rakhi and the letter along with some token of love. On the day of rakshabandhan my sister Prachi was about to come from her workplace to celebrate rakshabandhan with us.
On this day many sweets are prepared, among them Pooja is preparing “Olya naralachya Karanjya” ( Tender coconut sweet) and “Narali Bhat” ( Coconut sweet rice ) to Celebrate both “Rakshabandhan” and “Narali Pornima”
