Laporte produces clays using a range of various raw materials:
=== Petroleum Resin (RP) clays with 1000 times less PAH than Coal Tar Pitch which was used many years ago. The PR formulation has been carefully prepared to be environmentally friendly. This resin is available in most countries.
=== Very low PAH Resin (less than 50mg/kg) is compliant with ISSF rules
=== Zero PAH Natural resin made from Pine Resin - Colophony. We have supplied and offered this 100% Ecologic clay for a very long time!

We use specialized laboratories such as VERITAS to carry out thorough analysis in order to ensure our clays are of the highest standard. We are proud to be able to supply clays which comply to the regulations of all countries thanks to our option of the eco-resin clays, those produced to ISSF standards and the PR option or natural resin targets.

A BRIEF HISTORY:
Since clay shooting was invented the real birds were replaced by a ball of glass and then later, to clay targets. Clay targets do not actually contain clay but are a mixture of a carbonate filler and a binder. Cole tar was originally used as the binder before being replaced by petrol pitch.
Since the end of the 19th Century, the Laporte family have been pioneers in the field of manufacturing Clay Pigeons. In fact, it wasEmile Laporte who created the first functionalManual Launcher and he made clays, using genuine clay, from the town of Biot, where our factory still stands today.
Pierre Laporte, Jean-Michel’s Father, created the first Automatic Press machines in order toproduce clays in greater quantities. He had already supplied the 1964 Tokyo Olympic Games with the first half automatic throwers, created the Voice Throwing System and contributed to the improvement of the targets.

Jean-Michel further developed the company and once formed a partnership with WINCHESTER USA. Jean-Michel continued to purchase several of his competitors businesses contributing to The Laporte Company becoming
a true World Leader. Jean-Michel, always committed to innovation, went on to further develop Legendary Traps and clays. For example, the BATTUE clays, Midi clays and the famous FLASH target which were created to make our Sport visually spectacular for both the spectator and for filming during Major Events like Olympic Games…
