This time, Mr. Nampula is going to a temple called "Wat Suthat" in the old town (Rattanakosin) in Bangkok, Thailand. This temple is famous for its giant swings, which are often seen in travel guides and posters these days.
When we Japanese first saw this, we thought it was the torii of a shrine in Japan. However, this is not a torii gate, but a "flying trapeze" called Saochingcha (Giant Swing), which was used for coming-of-age ceremonies.
This temple is a first-class royal temple in Thailand.
Construction started in the era of Rama I and was completed in the era of Rama III.
There are many stone statues in the temple, and they are said to have been brought from China by King Rama III.
This temple is located in a nearby area with Wat Pho and the Grand Palace.
If you have the chance, I recommend to go the great temple!
