Another dose of total rage from Lowell, MA's own Oblivionation. After originally hearing word that there was a band that featured former Out Cold drummer John Evicci back in 2012, I immediately sought out their demo and was blown away. Much like Out Cold, Oblivionation has continued to release consistent material time after time, including their excellent "Language of Violence" LP from 2014. Whereas on their previous LP the guitars were definitely louder than anything, these new tracks on "Less Than Human" are slightly less blaring and clear, with punchy drums and vicious vocals front and center. There is also a reworking of the first track on their 2012 demo, and it's interesting to hear the growth. I'd say it's quite the makeover. I hope this band continues to release killer hardcore for years to come.
