Welcome to BVRC - 109b! In this video, we are restoring our 100-year-old Canary farmhouse during the Spanish Christmas season. While most of the English-speaking world celebrates Christmas on December 25th, in Spain, the main celebrations happen on January 6th and 7th, known as 3 Kings Day. This holiday marks the arrival of Melchor, Caspar, and Balthazar, who brought gifts to Baby Jesus. Taking advantage of the extended Spanish public holiday, we rented specialized farm equipment at a great deal--5 days for the price of 2-and began clearing the overgrown blackberry bushes on our land.

During this festive period, we continued the historic house renovation, making the most of the quiet holiday to focus on restoring the farmhouse. In the video, we share tips for renovating old houses in Spain and how we saved money on farm equipment rental during the holidays. Whether you're interested in traditional Spanish Christmas celebrations or want to learn more about renovating a 100-year-old house, this video has something for everyone. Stay tuned to see how the Buenavista Rural Club is transforming this piece of history!

Building and restoring on an old stone farmhouse over 100 years old, Restoring wood, clearing brambles off farmland, growing vegetables, using my tractor on farmland, flail mowers, piva trailer (I call it my Harley Davidson), planting vegetables, cats, Visto the Cat, stone walls, building dry stone walls in Tenerife,

𝐆𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧:
An abandoned stone farmhouse, off-grid, 248,000 sq m of farm (on a 48 hectare estate) in Tenerife. Follow our journey as we clear the land of a thorny problem: blackberry brambles and giant weeds. The 150-year-old farmhouse has been abandoned for over 50 years. No electricity, no water, no sanitation and very dangerous roofs. This is about the conversion of Buenavista Rural Club. A place where young adults will be able to come on holiday to Tenerife and stay in nearby hostels, spending their days on the farm learning about renewable energy - solar and wind - how to find water, grow crops, look after animals, whilst participating in a Reality TV Show released once a week on this YouTube channel. Visitors of all ages can come and enjoy walks of different skill and fitness levels. Also people can sit and admire the view whilst the Group walk and exercise.

The Buenavista Rural Club will be one of the top things to do in Tenerife, for all ages, but especially for kids. You can stay the night close by at the http://www.alberguebolico.com/ Bolico Hostel, set in the Teno Rural Park and spend the days at the Buenavista Rural Club in El Palmar. (watch our video review at:    • BVRC075 Albergue Bolico Hostel Review...   ) With evening trips to local towns: Los Silos, Buenavista del Norte and Garachico - visits to local cafes & bars and meet with local people of similar ages.

Monte de las Aguas means the mountain of the waters. The weather in this part of the island can be very hot during the day and cool at night. The area enjoys a micro climate that can change rapidly from dry to wet and from hot to cold. Being prepared for such conditions is important, so visitors should be prepared for all outcomes.
