Episode of 'ANDO EN BUS' (RIDING BUSES) with the luxury service of the Argentine company 'Andesmar' on the route 'Mendoza - Buenos Aires'. The 'Suite First Class' service has seats with 180 ° recline to look like a bed, blankets, pillows, hot dinner and breakfast, individual entertainment screen, personal headphones, USB ports, a game of bingo and permanent attention with a hostess .
The trip was made in September 2019 being one of the last services of this type in Argentina, this given that they have been progressively disappearing over time. The bus was unit 3062 from 'Andesmar' (ex 2011), bodywork 'Metalsur Starbus 2' with chassis 'Scania', plate PIG071. This bus originally had 26 'Suite' seats, at the time of the trip it had 6 'Suite' seats on the first floor and 31 'Executive Bed' seats on the second floor. Now in 2021, the entire bus only has 40 'Executive Bed' seats. 'Andesmar' retains 4 'Suite' buses although it no longer has permanent services.
The 'Mendoza - Buenos Aires' route takes 14 hours, just over 1,000 km and is a night service. It was a beautiful luxury trip in Argentina, one of the high points of my trip in trans-Andean lands. The ticket was bought at the 'Andesmar' agency in Santiago de Chile, although it was more expensive.
