오늘은 낡은 주택이 허물어지고 새로운 아파트로 변해가는 노량진을 걸었습니다.

노량진 뉴타운은 2003년 뉴타운으로 지정되었지만, 그동안 사업이 지지부진 하다가 최근들어 부쩍 속도가 빨라지고 있는데, 8개의 구역중 사업속도가 가장 빠른 2구역은 2027년입주를 예상하고있습니다.

교통면에서는 거의 만점에 가까운 노량진이지만, 몇가지 아쉬운 부분도 있습니다. 그중에서 노량진 역사와 연결된 대규모 수산시장은 아무리 현대화를 거쳤다고 해도 스타필드 분위기를 내기는 어려워 보입니다. 또 한강과 인접한 위치임에도 여의도나 반포처럼 한강공원을 이용하기 어렵고, 탁트인 한강뷰가 나오기 힘들다는 것도 고려해야 할 부분입니다. 또, 군데군데 언덕을 활용한 작은 공원들이 있기는 하지만 대규모로 조성되는 주거지치고는 녹지가 아쉬운편입니다.

하지만, 향후 8개의 구역이 모두 완성되어 9000여세대의 고급 브랜드 아파트로 바뀌게 되면 일대 풍경을 크게 바꿔놓을 것은 분명합니다.


Today, I took a stroll through Noryangjin, where old houses are being torn down and replaced by new apartments. Although Noryangjin New Town was designated as a redevelopment area back in 2003, progress had been sluggish for years. However, the project has recently picked up speed. Out of the eight designated districts, District 2 is advancing the fastest, with completion expected in 2027.

In terms of transportation, Noryangjin boasts nearly perfect accessibility. However, the biggest challenge to elevating the neighborhood’s status might be the large fish market connected to Noryangjin Station. No matter how modernized it becomes, the market can’t quite replicate the atmosphere of a popular shopping mall like Starfield.

Despite its proximity to the Han River, Noryangjin doesn’t offer the same access to Han River parks as places like Yeouido or Banpo. Scenic, unobstructed views of the river are also hard to come by. Given that there are small parks scattered throughout the neighborhood utilizing its hilly terrain, the lack of substantial green space remains a downside for this large-scale residential project.

Nevertheless, once all eight districts are fully developed into a residential complex of around 9,000 units, the landscape of Noryangjin is bound to change dramatically.
