How similar are Kazakh and Sakha/Yakut? Both of these languages belong to Turkic group.
Sakha language is mostly spoken in Yakutia, a federal republic of Russia, by 450 thousand native speakers.
Kazakh language is spoken in Kazakhstan, Mongolia, Uzbekistan and Russia, by 17 million native speakers. The distance between Yakutsk, the capital of Yakutia, and Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan, is around 6 thousand km.
