Al “The Bishop” Hobbs was simply one of the most beloved and interesting personalities you would have ever crossed paths with in the Gospel music industry or the music industry et al. Wearing as many hats as some specialty stores offer, Hobbs earned the title of ‘Bishop’ with an empire to accompany it. He oversaw the operations of two gospel record labels, served as chairman of the Gospel Announcer’s Guild and served as Vice-Chairman of the industry’s leading organization; the Gospel Music Workshop Of American, Inc. (GMWA) under the leadership of Bishop Albert Jamison.

Al was one of America’s leading radio, record company as well as Gospel music marketing and sales executives! Also to his legacy, Hobbs was a father, a professional recording artist, and a producer, and songwriter, announcer, meeting planner, event coordinator and successful entrepreneur. Al “The Bishop” Hobbs was born June 4, 1943 in Decatur, Alabama; he is survived by his children Alex Carrington Hobbs, Asha Gabriella Hobbs and Bridgett Hobbs.
