On September 1, 2018, during the Aviation Picnic at the Aleksandrowice airport in Bielsko-Biała, there was an accident involving a replica of the RWD-5 aircraft (registration marks SP-LOT). The structure itself was significantly damaged, but the two pilots on board were unharmed.

A month later, the General Meeting of the Experimental Aviation Association adopted a resolution to restore its flagship RWD-5 aircraft to a flightable condition.

Currently, the repair of the RWD-5 flying replica is nearing completion. There is a chance that soon you will be able to see this unique plane in the air again, which we warmly wish to our colleagues from the Experimental Aviation Association.
