Why do I feel sad after adopting my child? This is a question countless adoptive parents ask themselves. After all, we spent months or even years hoping and praying for the child we now call our own. Everyone expects us to be happy and thankful, but something just doesn't feel right.

In this video, I share 6 signs of Post-Adoption Depression/Post-Adoption Blues, which shares similarities with Postpartum depression. If you experiencing symptoms of depression after adopting your child, you are not alone. This is a very common situation, but most parents feel isolated because it feels shameful to admit. I hope this video helps you know that you are not alone in your struggle and that it's okay to tell someone how you feel! These feelings won't last forever, but talking about it will help.

Check back next week for Part 2 where I talk about what causes Post-Adoption Blues and what you can do to overcome it.
