2010 Mercedes Benz E350, Trunk lid wont lock when it comes down using the push to close button, however it will lock if you manually closed the lid, So I noticed the hook on the chassis stays put when the lid opens; so this means the pull down motor is not releasing the hook to go up, further inspection I found the motor was frozen internally in lock position, I went little bit further and confirmed the power function to the motor was working as it suppose to. one year earlier I have changed the latch on the lid; when this was bad the lid wont lock no matter what you do, and the pull down motor was functioning back then, in conclusion the pull down motor fixed the issue today, the part # A 204 750 0060, Just one last note on cleaning the connector corrosion, I usually use baking soda diluted in water, and the easiest way I use sprite or seven up this will clean the corrosion build up really nice, I only had coke at the shop today so I used is not as effective as the other I listed above but it did the job, you can use what ever you like just make sure no battery power present at the time of soaking.
