Hanna shows cloud cover maps from SMHI, revealing that June 2024 was a very cloudy month.

She analyzes how the revenues from solar production contribute to paying off the installation. By comparing the generated revenues with installation and operational costs, one can calculate how long it takes to fully pay off the installation. The revenues come both from the electricity used directly in the household, which reduces the electricity bill, and from the surplus electricity sold back to the grid with the help of the 60-öre tax reduction.

Hanna also discusses the phenomenon of negative electricity prices and shows that even though prices can sometimes be negative, they are not low enough to warrant shutting down the installation. Production continues despite these price fluctuations.

Additionally, Hanna explains what the 60-öre tax reduction is and why it is an economic incentive. The 60-öre tax reduction is a reduction of 60 öre per kWh for surplus electricity fed into the grid. This means that for every kilowatt-hour (kWh) that the solar installation produces and is not used directly, but is fed into the grid, the owner receives a tax reduction equivalent to 60 öre. This makes it economically advantageous to invest in solar energy, as it helps reduce the payback period for the installation and increases the overall return on investment.
