1/28/18 - Back in January, the PNWR ran a few "class I" road units out to Banks, OR on it's United Railways District to collect some intermodal cars that had been in storage (since March of 2016) on the old Port of Tillamook Bay Railroad line. Banks is about 25 miles west of Portland and is regularly only served by Portland & Western on weekdays, so this Sunday movement involving "big" units was quite rare, and one of the few times this area will ever see this type of power. The already rare KCS unit made it even better.

Clip 1 - Arriving outside of Banks with BNSF 7300 leading.

Clip 2 - Moving onto the old Port of Tillamook Bay Railway track where the intermodal cars are parked. This section of track is only used for railcar storage since the line was washed out by a storm in 2007 over the coast range.

Clip 3 - With KCS 4174 now in the lead, the engines pull 4,600 ft of baretables through the Banks lumber mill yard. The train would stay together, with the same leader, all the way down to LA under the symbol B WLBSCO5-26A.

This train only collected 1/2 of the cars in storage there, and another train was run a few days later to pick up the remaining cars.
