Walter P. Chrysler, a railroad mechanic who worked his way to the top of the booming automotive industry in the US in the 1910s, started the Chrysler Corporation in 1925. His vehicles were soon popular around the world, and this 'light six' tourer (the model name '60' indicated it was capable of reaching 60 mph) was purchased brand new in South Australia by a farming family in 1926.
Years later their grandson, Vinny Barry, would find the car abandoned in a farm in the mid-north of the state. He lovingly restored it and, now 97 years old, in 2020, he has generously donated it to the National Motor Museum, with the help of friends from the Gawler Car Club - GVVCVC. Take a look with Mick and Nigel as they inspect the car at the Museum for the first time. Can you help identify the manufacturer of the body?
