This is my attempt at making a portable waste tote (aka "Turd Toter") for my RV. I'm planning to dry camp, and the dump stations are more than 2 miles away. Hauling a commercially available waste tote that far would take forever to get there, and I suspect the tote wouldn't last very long. Plus, the totes are super expensive for what they are and are cheaply made. I have less than $50 in the parts in the video. The only con is you must use a macerator.

I used a 30 gallon plastic barrel available locally. You can also use a 50 gallon, or 15 gallon, or just about anything with a two inch NPT bung opening. The other components were either ordered from eTrailer or from an online plumbing supply warehouse. Our local big box stores don't carry ABS pipe or fittings. ABS fittings may be available and cheaper in your area.

Parts and Part Numbers:

2 inch ABS male adapter - PN 80420
2 inch Valterra Bladex Valve slip - PN 7201
2 inch Eccentric Tank Reducer - PN T1041-2
Valterra Termination Adapter - PN T1029-2

Steps to assemble:

- Apply nylon plumbers tape to threaded side of PN 80420 and screw into barrel.
- Apply ABS cement to hub side of 80420 and one slip side of PN 7201 (valve) and join together.
- Apply ABS cement to slip side of PN 7201 (valve) and hub side PN T1041-2 (tank reducer) and join together.
- Apply ABS cement to spigot side of PN T1041-2 (tank reducer) and hub side of PN T1029-2 (termination adapter) and join together.

Be sure you slightly twist each cemented piece into place and hold firmly for approximately 30 seconds to 1 minute, as each piece will have a tendency to push off each other due to the nature of the bonding process.

I think putting plumbing pieces of this nature together is pretty simple, but I've been doing this as a DIYer for many, many years. If you're not comfortable doing plumbing work, you might want to ask your dad, friend, or Jim down the street (everyone knows a Jim) for help if they've done plumbing before.

Please note I'm not making money off this video. I'm just trying to help people out. Any incorrect information or misinterpretation of the information I've presented is at your own risk.
