Looking to learn 16-strand rope splicing? Ryan demos performing the splice in 16-strand arborist ropes according to Samson Ropes' instructions.

16-strand ropes are a main-stay of arborist work. As climbing ropes, they are robust and easy to grip, if a little heavier than the 11 to 11.8mm climbing ropes popular today. The full 1/2" (12mm) size of a rope like ArborMaster Bigfoot (shown here) makes a great rope for lanyards.

The great folks at Samson Ropes not only make the Bigfoot rope shown here, but they have free splicing instructions for all of their ropes. Download the pdfs from their site, or get the Samson app for your phone and follow along.
