Onion-3,medium
Ginger- a large piece
Garlic-13 cloves
Tomato- 1,medium
Fennel seeds/Permjeerakam- 1/2 tablespoon
Green chilly- 2 Nos
Kashmeeri chilly powder- 1 to 1.5 tbspn
Coriander powder-1 tablespoon
Garam masala- 1 teaspoon
Turmeric powder-1/4 teaspoon
Pepper powder- 1/2 tbspn or less
Salt- to taste
Coconut oil- as required
Curry leaves- 2 sprig
Dry red chillies- 3 Nos
Cloves- 2
Cinnamon- 1 small piece
Cardamom- 2
Drain the washed mutton pieces and keep aside.
Grind ginger,garlic and fennel seeds to a paste and keep aside.
Heat oil in a pressure cooker.
Saute cinnamon,cloves,cardamom for few seconds.
Saute dry red chillies,curry leaves.
Add sliced onion,green chilly and saute until it turns translucent.
Add ginger- garlic paste and saute well.
Add sliced tomatoes and saute until it turns soft.
Add mutton pieces and mix well for 2 minutes.
Add masala powders now ans saute for 3 minutes.
Add salt and mix well.
Close the cooker and let it cook for 4 whistles.
Switch off the flame now.
Open the cooker when the steam releases completely.
Sprinkle 1 sprig of curry leaves or coriander leaves.
