During the early morning hours of 7/30/19, a rare cluster of intense nocturnal lightning storms rapidly developed and moved slowly towards the east coast. My camera was left out on the lanai facing west as the storms came closer and then facing east as storms began forming all around, including offshore. Eventually, it exploded right overhead, producing very heavy rain and powerful lightning strikes. The storm intensified as it moved north (so it could have been louder than this video shows) and also formed along the coastline east of Melbourne shortly after. Let's just say it was quite a sleepless night for many.

The camera was set to a very high exposure mode, with the widest aperture, highest ISO, and a shutter speed of 1/15. I did this to show even the dimmest flashes, but please forgive that the bright ones are completely overexposed.
