Shooting the ISSF 25m Rapid Fire Pistol Event.

25m Rapid Fire Pistol requires the athlete to maintain precision while moving from target to target. Everything is done in 5-shot series, with a 60-shot match format. Each shot is scored out of 10 (depending on how close to the centre the shot lands) for a possible maximum of 600 points. In this event the athlete is required to put a single shot onto each of 5 targets with the 8 second, 6 second, or 4 second time limit.

Firearm: Any ISSF compliant pistol or revolver capable of discharging 5 rounds of .22LR without the need to reload.

Target: ISSF 25m Rapid Target (10cm 10-ring, additional scoring rings are an additional 10cm each).

Distance to Target: 25m

Loading time: 60 seconds to load (from an empty magazine) and prepare. Upon hearing the command "Attention!" shooting time will begin in 7 seconds using a turning target, audible, or visual signal.

Course of fire:
5 shots sighting (unscored). 8 seconds for 5 shots.
10 shots (2 series of 5 shots), 8 seconds for 5 shots.
10 shots (2 series of 5 shots), 6 seconds for 5 shots.
10 shots (2 series of 5 shots), 4 seconds for 5 shots.

After completing one course, athletes move to a different position and shoot a second course for a total of 60 shots.

Paper targets are changed after every 10 scored shots.

All shots are fired one-handed, using open sights.
