On this week’s episode I talk about premiere dresses and go into my process for choosing them. Because premieres happen year-round, I like to use dresses from the runway. The minute I see gowns that I think could work, I start reserving them. At a runway show, I might even take a picture, immediately text it to the designer, and write, “Hold this for me.” I usually know which clients are going to have movies coming out around six months in advance, so I’ll be thinking, Oh, I need to find premiere dresses for X, Y, Z.

I also highlight a few of the standout pieces from over the years: a pale-blue tulle, yellow-embroidered spring 2017 Gucci dress worn by Sienna Miller to the premiere of “Live By Night” in London; a red satin Dior dress worn by Selena Gomez to the “Rudderless” premiere in Los Angeles; a black fall 2019 Dior couture collection dress worn by Dakota Johnson to premier of “The Friend” in Toronto; and an orange fall 2019 Oscar de la Renta dress worn by Margot Robbie to the “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood” premiere in London. In addition, I speak with Sienna about that Gucci dress and with Oscar de la Renta creative director Fernando Garcia about his inspiration.
