The iX1 may be based on BMW's smallest crossover, the X1, which is based on the same platform as the MINI Countryman, yet it feels surprisingly grown-up and cosseting. Its exterior bears the marks of evolution compared to the model it replaces, yet its interior is a big step up in terms of design from what the model had before.

Its electric powertrain comprises two electric motors, one powering each axle, and together they give the iX1 athletic performance. The 64.7 kWh (usable capacity) battery provides a claimed WLTP range of up to 440 km, yet you will realistically get around 320 to 350 km on average if you don't try to drive especially efficiently.
