At the end of the first day test session I encountered a frozen caliper which could have turned into a big problem but fortunately didn't. We bled the caliper and called it a day until we could get to the track again to see if the problem was fixed.

I had a hard time sleeping that night. All I could think of was the times I watched races on TV and the caliper would freeze and eventually get the rotor so hot it would disintegrate lighting the car completely on fire. I had measured a temp of over 500 degrees on the rotor about 5-minutes after parking in the garage and I could smell something burning. Not sure if it was just the heat from the rotor or something else.

Anyways, after tossing and turning I finally thought of a strategy that would put my mind at ease. In the first run in the morning I would come in the pits after every lap and have Joe measure the temperature of the brakes with the infrared temperature gun. If one of the rotors was getting too hot compared to the others then I would bring the car in and park it. With this strategy in mind, I finally was able to get some sleep.
