Montverde Academy High School senior Issam Asinga is interviewed at the 2022-23 Gatorade National Player of the Year Awards in Los Angeles. Issam won the national award for Boys Track and Field after breaking the national 200-meter dash record with a stunning 19.97 seconds! Issam also broke 10 seconds for 100 meters on four occasions this season! Although each of those four performances were wind-aided, two were in the 9.8s (!) and he also beat 200m world champion Noah Lyles head-on in one of those!
