Lagoon Valley park is located right off I-80, on the outskirts of Vacaville. Parking is $5 dollars for the day, plenty of parking so I doubt finding a spot would ever be an issue. All the trails are easy to locate and most (if not all) have signage, which is great! Most of the trails here are beginner to intermediate, 10 miles of riding in the park will get you about 2,000 feet of climbing, give or take. Jepson Trail, the longest singletrack trail in the park is 2.4 miles long and it's mainly all DH. It's rated as a green but I could see the argument for it being a blue trail. There is a few spots with a good amount of trail exposure and a bunch of pretty tight switchbacks. There is also 1 or 2 steep sections as well, but nothing too technical. As long as you watch your speed, a beginner could clean the trail safely. It's all singletrack, so keep that in mind. The black diamonds I rode (Manzanita, Ascension) Were definitely more on the blue side than black, steep in a few spots, a little rutted out and a couple of small root sections made me think twice about my lines. I didn't know what to except coming out here for the first time but I had a blast! Trail conditions were better than expected and it wasn't busy at all! Do yourself a favor and come check this place out, you won't regret it! Stay excited, get stoked and I'll see you guys on the next one! Now go outside and ride your damn bike! 😎🐍
