Posted on my mom and aunt’s birthday, 2016. Happy Birthday, Mom and Betty! :) They’re not twins, but they’re both born on the same day, but years apart. Cool, huh?

Mom and Betty are lifelong Dallas Cowboys fans, as well as being season-ticket holders. While the Broncos are still my favorite team these days, the Cowboys are my second. With all of the attention the Broncos have gotten lately, I wanted to show the Cowboys some love. I’m aware that this song isn’t about football, but since I don’t take JBJ’s claim of being a “cowboy” at face value, I felt it was open to interpretation. :)

TO F OR F#?: “On a steel horse I ride”--the “I ride” part is a little tricky, because JBJ sings more of an F than an F#, but it’s over a D major chord. I opted to go the full F#, and I think it sounds better (maybe he was going for a more bluesy feel?). I felt good about my choice when I saw a YouTube clip of JBJ and Richie Sambora performing it live unplugged (a 1/2 step flat), and JBJ chose to sing the major third (equivalent of F# in the original key).

I sang this in a cover band in high school, but someone else played the guitar part. So I finally got around to creating my own solo arrangement of this song, after a kind fan suggested it at the Little Bear a couple of months ago.

About the jeans--two things: 1) I couldn’t resist buying them when I saw that that particular Levi’s style is called “Toto”. :) Probably should have been called “Jovi”--I mean, c’mon. 2) Yes, I’m wearing them in an ironic way, unless you think they’re cool, then I’m just wearing them...unironically(?).
