What is a Castle
A castle is a type of building that is designed to protect the people who live inside.
They usually have tall walls, towers and other features that make it hard for people from the outside to be able to break in.
Castles were mainly built during the Middle Ages to protect members of royalty like Kings and Queens and other important people at the time.
Moussa Castle
The Moussa Castle, located in the Shouf mountains of Lebanon, isnāt just any old castle. It is a modern castle fully equipped with a moat, drawbridge, and medieval-style ramparts.
The Castle was built by a determined young man named Moussa Abdel Karim Al Maamari. It took over 40 years to build because Moussa hand-built this massive, sprawling castle with only a little help from his wife and neighbours.
