The 2010 US Open 9-Ball Championship came down to Darren Appleton and Corey Deuel. Appleton had been the only player to beat Deuel over this long week in Chesapeake, Virginia, but they would do battle one more time to determine the final event winner.

Deuel was a 2001 US Open 9-Ball, Sands Regency Open and BCA Open 9-Ball Champion. He has represented the USA eleven times in the Mosconi Cup.

Appleton was a 2008 World 10-Ball Champion and the 2009 World Pool Masters Champion.

This was winner breaks and a race to thirteen, but the winner had to win by two racks.
