Charles Todd from the Arthur Rylah Institute for Environmental Research talks to the Murray-Darling Basin Native Fish Forum about Golden perch basin-wide population dynamics: Large scale population dynamics of an enigmatic fish. Charles talks about how recent advances in our understanding of golden perch ecology means that we need to think about this species and it’s populations at the Basin scale. Charles shows how the population model developed for golden perch links six populations representing key parts of the northern and southern Basin. Charles goes on to show how each population is linked and how changes in one area can influence the success, or otherwise, of golden perch in other areas.
