How to get pregnant with PCOS quickly

PCOS Wiki- PCOS is a hormonal problem that affects 10-15% women of reproductive age group. It is the one of the commonest reason of anovulation i.e. fault with egg formation.
PCOS diagnosis- 2 out of 3 criteria mentioned are met then it is called PCOD. They are-
1. Periods flow decreases or periods stop for sometime.
2. Appearance of unwanted hair acne, weight gain.
3. Ultrasound appearance of polycystic ovaries characterized by 10-15 peripherally aligned follicles in the ovary giving diamond necklace appearance on USG.
Polycystic ovarian disease (PCOD) is described when immature eggs appear in the ovaries as small multiple cysts giving a typical polycystic ovaries on ultrasound.
The patient may have irregular periods, weight gain or infertility.
When the polycystic ovarian disease is severe & associated with multi organ system defects such as metabolic syndrome, get involving liver, heart, muscle, brain, unwanted hair (hirsutism), uterine cancers etc., it is called polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS).
PCOS Tests-
PCOS can be diagnosed by ultrasound wherein a typical polycystic look of the ovaries called the diamond necklace sign is seen in USG.
In addition certain PCOS tests are available such as FSH, LH, Prolactin, TSH, Testosterone & Anti mullerian hormone (AMH) to clinch the diagnosis.
How to get pregnant with PCOS quickly
PCOS pregnancy can be achieved by following these steps.
Step I PCOS treatment diet
Step II PCOS exercise
Step III Treatment for PCOS with medicines
Step IV PCOS pregnancy by IVF
Step I PCOS treatment diet
The patient should aim for weight loss. Even 5-10% of weight loss can restores ovulation and get PCOS pregnancy fast.
What to avoid
Avoid processed foods like hot dogs, sausages & packaged foods.
Fast foods like Pizza, burgers
Starchy foods like bread, pastas, maida
Cold drinks & sugary beverages.
What to eat in PCOS
• Eat natural unprocessed foods.
• High fiber diet, like whole grains- ragi, bajra, makki, jawar ka atta, green leafy vegetables as salads dark red fruits such as red grapes, apple, pomegranate, blue barriers, nuts etc.
• Lean proteins in the form of Fish, chicken, tofu and low calorie dairy products.
• Spices like haldi, cinnamon
• Low glycemic foods such as whole wheat, quinuao, brown rice, oatmeal, fruits such as apples, cherries, chakotra, oranges, kiwi, straw berries, seeds etc. which do not spike your blood sugar levels.
Step II PCOS Exercise
Exercise 5 times a week at least.
One should do cardiac exercises like walking, jogging, cycling, swimming.
In addition, one should do body weight exercises or strength training exercises such as squats, pushup, triceps dip to boost metabolism & buildup muscle mass & enhance bone health.
Step III PCOS treatment
Certain medicines like ovulation inducing drugs like clomiphene citrate or Letrozole help in egg formation leading to PCOS pregnancy.
PCOS and diabetes medication
In PCOS patients who are obese or have borderline diabetes or are diabetic would benefit from anti diabetic drugs such as metformin which improve ovulation.
If these don’t work then ovulation induction can be done by Human Menopausal Gonadotrophins (hMG) injections combined with Intra Uterine Insemination (IUI) to order to get pregnant with PCOS quickly.
Step IV PCOS pregnancy with IVF (Test Tube Baby)
IVF (In Vitro Fertilization) is required only if
o 4 -6 cycles of intra uterine insemination fail.
o If woman’s age is more than 37 years
o If husband also has low sperm count
o If the PCOS pregnancy is required fast
Results of IVF are very good
How to cure PCOS permanently?
PCOS cannot be cured permanently. Stages of PCOS keep changing from adolescents till the woman becomes menopausal.
With menopause, PCOS is cured but these patients are more at risk of diabetes, heart disease, uterine cancers, depression anxiety, sleep apnea & psychological problems later in life.
