Are you planning to visit a loved one at the Camp Lejeune Brig? Navigating the process can be tricky, but I'm here to help you understand exactly what you need to do. In this video, I break down the steps to ensure a smooth visit:

Get on the Visitor List: Make sure your loved one in the brig has put you on their visitor list.

Coordinate with the Officer of the Day (OOD): Call the OOD of your loved one’s unit the day before your visit to arrange an escort onto the base.

On the Day of Your Visit: Contact the OOD one hour before you arrive at the gate to confirm the escort.

Remember, after your visit, you must leave the base immediately without making any stops.

Transcript: Let’s talk about visiting a loved one at the Camp Lejeune Brig. I got a call about an individual who is trying to visit their loved one in the brig and was having difficulty getting access to base, in order to get to the brig to visit with their loved one. Now visiting hours are on the weekend and holidays from 0900 to 1100, but you have to have access to base in order to get on to the installation and visit that service member in the brig. So, step No. 1 is that Marine putting that visitor on their visitor list. When that visitor wants to visit that Marine, they need to call the Officer Of the Day (OOD) for that Marine’s unit the day before the visit and coordinate that OOD meeting them at a location just off base in order to provide an escort for them to get on base and get to the brig. So again, first have that service member put you on the visitor list. Second, the day before you visit call the unit’s Officer of the Day or OOD and coordinate them escorting you on the installation. Then on the day of your visit, reach out to them an hour before you arrive at the gate, reach out to the OOD and ensure that they are going to meet you there at the appropriate time and then you can be escorted through the gate and to the brig. Once you visit your service member you have to leave the base immediately and you can make no stops. You cannot go to the exchange. You cannot go to the various shops and shoppettes on the installation. Once you visit your family member or loved one, you must leave the facility (base/installation). Like, Follow, Share. Take care.
