Less dust in your shop can't be bad for your health. This DIY trick will help reduce dust from a sander.

Many of us have small shops or even makeshift spaces like myself where we do our projects and set up our tools. Saw dust and other particulate matter generated from working with these tools is not only messy, but poses a real health hazard if you continuously breath it in.

Minimizing this exposure to sawdust should be at the top of our list when it comes to our shop and DIY space safety protocols. There are lots of options to filter the air we breath and extract dust from our workspaces. Unfortunately, not every option is viable in every space.

In this video, I demonstrate a quick shop trick to help minimize the amount of dust released into the environment when using one of the worst dust creators, our sanders.

The best thing about this trick is you can use it it conjunction with air cleaners, and tool dust extraction systems to add an additional level of protection.
