I am obsessed with hiking. And when I got my first GSP, I couldn't wait until he was ready to come with me! Although at first I had visions of my dog just knowing how to hike off leash and not run away. That was definitely a fantasy. But through trial and error I found a way to teach him how to stay close while also having fun running free, and coming to their name when I call for them! This video walks through the simple steps and tactics I used and worked for me with both of my GSPs. I am not a dog training expert, but I am a woman that loves her dogs and has learned lots of tips and tricks along the way to help others have the same success that I have had with this energetic breed!
