This video continues your Torchon bobbin lace journey and introduces you to the Torchon edge stitch which is the stitch that is worked at the edge to reinforce the edge and creates a straight edge.

This edge stitch is used so that you can stitch your lace to fabric, remove the lace and then reattach it. It is also a decorative edging that gives a straight edge to your lace.

Reinforcing the ground stitch and adding the next steps in Torchon Lace, Lou shows you how to calculate how many pairs you need for starting your lace at a point, then explains the extra pairs needed for the edge stitch and how to add the pairs beginning at a point, perfect for working bookmarks.

Once all the pairs are added to your lace, you will learn how to work the Torchon edge stitch, both on the right and then the left.

As in previous videos, you will be shown a common error that can occur when working the edge stitch, what it looks like and what causes it.

With the free pattern, you can create stunning bands that will look amazing around a Christmas bauble.
