This is my first ever video from the beautiful country of Costa Rica! You will see the main fire station in the city of Cartago, which is located about half an hour from the capital city, San José. I stopped by this station during my road trip around the country and, to my delight, the firefighters allowed me to take a look inside their station and check out the awesome vehicles! The station is home to a total of three fire engines of various sizes; a brand new Spartan, an older International/ E-One, and a Freightliner. There's also a Ford F350 brush firefighting vehicle (used in terrain that the big engines cannot access) as well as an extremely large Mercedes Actros tanker truck, which is said to hold over 30,000 liters (8000 gallons) of water! Tanker trucks like this one are very important for the firefighters in Costa Rica, as fire hydrants are not widely available in many places. During my visit to this station, an emergency call was received, for what was said to be a residential structure fire. As more information came in, all frontline vehicles in the station were dispatched to the call and responded together! It appears as though the call was quickly downgraded, however, and I was told that the incident turned out to be minor.

Special thanks to the friendly bomberos (firefighters) of Cartago, Costa Rica!
