Chad introduces the anatomy of an alkene addition reaction; how a pi bond is broken and two sigma bonds are formed. He then explains Markovnikov's rule for regioselectivity showing that the electrophile or H+ ends up on the less substituted side of the alkene and the nucleophile on the more substituted side in Markovnikov addition and the opposite in anti-Markovnikov addition. Chad then explains the difference between Syn vs Anti for stereoselectivity as well.
