Islamabad is a small town located in the Anantnag district of Jammu and Kashmir. It is known for its natural beauty and is surrounded by mountains and forests.
The town has a rich history and was an important center of the ancient Karkota Empire.
Later on, it was ruled by various dynasties like the Mughals, Afghans, and Sikhs.
During the British Raj, Islamabad became an important center of trade and commerce.
After the partition of India in 1947, the town became a part of the Indian-administered Jammu and Kashmir region.
Islamabad is also known for its historic temples, including the famous Martand Sun Temple, which is an important pilgrimage site for Hindus.
