1. A Life Unbound

Geordie Trifa’s highly acclaimed 2018 documentary celebrates NeuroMovement®, the work Anat Baniel created and its transformational impact through the healing journeys of a young child, and a 28-year-old professional cheerleader, both of whom - after surviving life-changing brain injuries - recover above and beyond what was thought possible. Leading Neuroscientists Michael Merzenich, Jill Bolte Taylor, Martha Herbert, and Rick Hanson, join Anat Baniel to explain why Anat Baniel Method® NeuroMovement® is an innovative, breakthrough approach to learning and functional recovery.

2. Anat Baniel Speaking at TEDx UC Berkeley

Taking an audience of 1200 people including UC Berkely professors through a fun short experiential movement lesson, Anat Baniel demonstrates the power of the brain to change through NeuroMovement® and how contemporary Neuroscience is gradually validating what she has been practicing and training practitioners for 3 decades.

3. Anat Working with Dr Norman Doidge during a public workshop.

Norman Doidge is one of the most successful science writers of all time whose New York Times best-selling book, The Brain that Changes Itself, brought the possibility and importance of positive brain change to the public consciousness more than any other single work. Over a period of a few years, he consulted with Anat as he wrote his second, best seller, The Brain’s Way of Healing, in which he writes about her work alongside that of her great mentor, friend and colleague, Dr Moshe Feldenkrais. Here, in the space of a few minutes, Anat helps Dr Doidge gain access to much greater freedom in his neck and spine and does so while demonstrating her immense skill and her humor!

Dr Doidge wrote: “Baniel shows why our mainstream approach is often wrong and at times damaging. The approach here, far wiser, far more subtle, truly holistic, far more ingenious, far more in accord with how brain development occurs, shows ways to access brain plasticity and yields far greater results.”

4. Anat “Roasting” Dr Michael Merzenich (and herself!)

This short clip is taken from an evening Anat hosted at her center in San Rafael for the book tour of her friend and collaborator, the world-renowned neuroscientist Dr Michael Merzenich. Anat introduces Mike and recalls their first meetings with fondness and laughter. Dr Merzenich is known as the father of brain plasticity science and his research is probably the single most important body of work leading to our contemporary belief of how the brain works and the possibility of positive brain change throughout life.

As Dr Merzenich wrote in the Foreword of Anat’s highly acclaimed book, Kids Beyond Limits: “Scientists have defined the “rules” governing brain plasticity. Anat Baniel, working in parallel along a completely different path, has defined almost exactly the same rules and interprets them in practical and understandable human terms as the Nine Essentials that contribute richly to clinical intervention.”
